Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups

Nothing tastes better than peanut butter covered in chocolate!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups

Using a mold to shape your peanut butter cups makes it easy plus adds consistency to the end pieces. You will need a large peanut butter cup chocolate mold (Item ML0110)

Peanut Butter Cup Supplies

1. Mix together the powdered sugar, peanut butter, butter and vanilla until well combined, set aside.

2. Fill the cavity of the mold with melted chocolate coating (You can melt the coating in the microwave 1-2 cups at a time for 30 sec. bursts, stirring in-between) and invert the mold to pour out the excess chocolate into a bowl. An alternative method is to use a hobby brush to "paint" the sides of the cavity with chocolate. The goal is to have the chocolate evenly coat the cavity. Use a candy scraper/leveler to scrape off any excess chocolate from rim of cavity.

Pouring melted chocolate

3. Let the mold harden in the freezer for about 4-5 minutes.

4. Roll the peanut butter filling into small balls, place in the chocolate-coated cavities and flatten, leaving at least 1/8" headspace.

Forming Peanut Butter Balls

5. Using a knife or chocolate squeeze bottle, place more melted chocolate on top of the filling, making sure the filling is completely sealed by chocolate. Scrape off all excess.

Last layer of chocolate

6. Put back in freezer for about 5-6 minutes to completely set, and until the chocolate pulls slightly away from mold.

7. When completely set (should be hard in the middle), invert the mold to release the chocolates. Place inside paper candy cups for serving. They are now ready to enjoy, or fill a candy box and give as a special gift!

Yield: Approximately 24 peanut butter cups.
