Sugar Cookies

Star shaped sugar cookiesDelicious cookies any time of the year!


  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup half/half cream
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 tsps baking powder
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

1. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

2. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in cream.

3. Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt, gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well.

4. Cover and refrigerate for 3 hours or until easy to handle.

5. On a lightly floured surface, roll out dough to 1/8" thickness. Cut with floured cookie cutters. Place on ungreased baking sheets.

6. Bake at 325° for 6-8 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Remove to wire racks to cool. Frost and decorate as desired.
