Superstone® Covered Baker

Turn your home oven into a commercial brick oven and bake bread with a very crispy crust and light crumb. The natural clay evenly distributes heat and absorbs moisture. This beautiful unglazed baker is microwave and convection oven-safe. Just rinse and scrub under water - no greasy pan and no sticking. Also use the covered baker for creating tender fish, roasts and chicken. Bottom of baker is 14-1/2” x 5-1/2” x 2-1/2” deep, lid rises even 3” higher.

Great for Artisan Bread

I bought this to bake no-knead artisan bread. It works great, giving a beautifully colored and crispy crust while keeping the crumb light and moist. I used a generous amount of olive oil to grease the the first time I baked in this and the bread released easily. This will season over time and don't worry about any lingering crumbs that stick to the surface; they are part of the seasoning of the stoneware and won't affect taste. If you like to bake long loaves as opposed to a round boule shape, this is the baker for you.
