Add Old World texture and appearance to Lefse or Lahvosh, cookies and crackers, when you roll out dough with these traditional styled pins. Traditional grooved Lefse pin with grooves approximately 1/8" wide. Knobs on square (crosscut) cut pin are approximately 1/8"x 1/8". Hard maple rollers are 9-3/4" long x 2-3/4" dia.; overall length 17".

Pin Cleaning & Maintenance

1. Remove loose particles of pastry or flour, using your hands or a paper towel. Use a nylon scrubbing brush to remove even more between the knobs or grooves.

2. Place the rolling pin in a sink full of water, to which you've added ? tbsp. of dish detergent. Allow it to soak for just a minute or two to loosen flour and pastry remnants in the grooves. Excessive soaking will damage wooden rolling pins.

3. Hold one end of the lefse rolling pin in one hand, with the rest of the pin still in the water. Scrub the pin with a nylon-bristled cleaning brush to remove more debris from the pin.

4. Pull the lefse rolling pin out of the soapy water and rinse it with warm, clean water under the faucet. Inspect the pin for any food remnants---if any remain, simply scrub it again in the soapy water, before rinsing once more.

5. Place the pin upright in your dish drainer. Allow it to air dry completely before storing.

Tips:
A rolling pin cover can save you the trouble of having to clean these rolling pins each time you use them.

If you use scented dish detergent, be sure to rinse the rolling pin extra well so it doesn't retain the scent, or it could affect the flavor of your pastries.
