I recently obtained this cakepan set from my Mother In Laws home but there are no instructions included. Anyody that can share information? I think you just make opposite batters and bake alternately but am unsure.

"I just make one cake and seperate into how many different colors I want. The only thing is I use a baking spray on the pan, and the cake sections are kind of seperated after the cake is cooked. As long as your boyfriend doesn't shake the cake around, it doesn't seem to be much of a problem a little icing cannot help fix. : )"

"Just mix up two separate types of batter according to directions. You'll need three 9 inch pans; place the rings in one pan fill the center and outer ring with one color of batter, and the alternating ring with another color. Carefully remove the rings, wash and place in the second pan, and do the same. You will fill two pans in the same way, and the third pan you will fill the opposite, so pans 1 and 2 may have chocolate/vanilla/chocolate and pan 3 will have vanilla/chocolate/canilla. Make sure to remove the rings from the third pan before baking. After baking, stack with the opposing layer in the middle and the two layers with the same color scheme on top and bottom. This will create the checkboard effect when you cut it."
Love it!

"We love this pan! Cakes turn out great, and everybody is always so impressed. You won't believe how many people ask how it's done. First try was a little shaky, but got a perfect checkerboard cake with no unmatched edges the second time!"

I have had this pan since it came out. I make this cake once or twice a year. A little tricky to get the batter in neatly but turns out beautifully and everyone always loves it.
