Anise Oil is a pure, natural essential oil used as a flavoring. A pleasant licorice flavor that is excellent for flavoring pizzelle cookies and biscotti. This is a highly-concentrated, unsweetened all natural flavoring, 3 to 4 times the strength of water or alcohol-based flavourings or extracts. Large two-dram (1/4 fl. oz.) bottle will flavor 4 pounds of your favorite hard candy. 2 drams = 2 teaspoons

Note: Pure anise oil has a congealing (crystallization) point of 15?C or 59?F. If pure anise is exposed to temperatures below this point, the essential oil will solidify. If this happens, simply warm the anise oil (in a warm water bath) until it is liquefied and shake.

For applications where just a hint of flavor is needed, we suggest adding flavor by the drop using an Eyedropper until desired intensity is achieved.

LorAnn's super strength flavors:
No Artificial Sweeteners
Sugar Free (except Canadian Maple & Maple)
Gluten Free
Contain No Vegetable Oils
Certified Kosher by Star-K (Except Canadian Maple and Horchata)

Use these unsweetened super strength flavors for all your flavoring needs: Hard candy, chocolate, truffles, candy centers, fondant, frosting, ganache, fudge, cakes, cupcakes, cookies, brownies, sweet breads....

This shipment of Lorann Anise Oil was not only congealed, but frozen. I have had it at room temperature for several days now, and it is still congealed. It took 6 bottles of flavoring instead of the usual 3 to make the Italian cookies I've been making for years. I am an unhappy customer. I wrote the same day I used the 6 bottles and the reply was not at all helpful. In fact, the reply simply said the oil will congeal below 50 degrees. I've been buying this oil from you for a number of years and this is the first time it has not been satisfactory.
KK's Response: Lorann Oils, the manufacturer, states: Anise solidifies (or freezes) at 59 degrees F; this is a criterion value of anise. During colder months the anise may become solid during shipping. Do not be alarmed, this is actually a normal occurrence. In other words, if crystallization has occurred, it is your assurance of good value anise. If the anise has crystallized, warm the anise oil (in a warm water bath) until it is liquefied and shake.

Being originally Fri Buffalo NY where you can buy anise oil at any pharmacy for $1.25 a bottle and now living in Atlanta where it doesn't seem to be available I was happy to find the oil at kitchen Kraft's...a little pricey with shipping charge..but not outrageous
