"Just made a tub of icing using your hi-ratio shortening. It'sso-o good. It brought back good memories of our bakery in St. Pete, Fl. in the 70's - now here I am getting into the business again. I'm supposed to be retired!"

"I have made a pastry type cookie called a ladylock or clothespin cookie. Since moving to Fl 6 years ago I have nothing but failures and tried everything, including calling the makers of the flour and shortening.. Found out it was the shortening I was using. Switch to Hi Ratio and it's amazing. Just like the old days. A great product and not just for icings. Pastry and pie crust are the best."

I couldn't believe the difference in my buttercream when I made my first batch with this shortening. Smooth and creamy with very few air bubbles.

I couldn't believe the difference in my buttercream when using Hi-Ratio Shortening. I use 1/2 butter and 1/2 Hi-Ratio Shortening and my buttercream has a much creamier and non-greasy taste and holds up much better in Florida humidity. Worth every penny!

"This product works great to make a light, fluffy buttercream icing. I could not believe the difference it made. The icing tasted great without being greasy or too sweet. It was so much easier to spread on the cakes. Love this product and will keep using this."

Product sounds great. I'm probably going to order based upon the reviews. Can someone tell me ..... what is the difference between this and Crisco? What does high ratio mean?

"It seems this product got great reviews so I want to purchase it. Is there anyone that can tell me if there is no taste to this? No matter what I do, I ALWAYS taste that Criso taste in all my buttercream icings. It's so gross. Can anyone tell me if this will make it better tasting? Thanks!"

I have been using Hi Ratio Shortening for about 30 years now. I can tell you it is the best thing to use for your Buttercream frosting. It does not have that greasy Crisco taste. Better yet it makes the frosting light and fluffy and very easy to spread. Hope this review helps. Denise

"The difference between hi-ratio shortening and crisco is that hi ratio will hold up longer and better than crisco, It is formulated to not break down as fast. For those of you that are not wanting a greasy crisco taste you would need to try a Swiss or French buttercream that is made of butter, eggwhites and powdered sugar."

Use this once for buttercreme and you'll want to toss your Crisco right out. This creates a smooth, creamy icing with NO horrible greasy aftertaste. You will NOT be sorry you bought this!

This hi-ratio shortening makes the fluffiest frosting ever, it makes the frosting thick and fluffy, it doesn't make it to soft like the brands off the shelf you can make roses and decorate the whole cake without worrying that it will slide off the cake.
