Quick, Neat Way to Grease Cake Pans

Mix 1/2 cup of flour with 1 cup of shortening. Store in a covered plastic container in the refrigerator along with a plastic (sandwich) bag. When you need to grease a cake pan, just stick your hand inside the bag using it as a glove while you apply the mixture to the pan. (If you prefer, a pastry brush can be used to apply the pan grease.)
