Beautiful...but not perfect
Reviewed By: Judy (Oneida, WI)
Last year I had everyone get me these jars for Christmas gifts. I love the contemporary design of the jars and the platinum lids. I have both sizes; 8 oz. and 16 oz. Trying to remove the lid on the small jar was difficult. The jar was difficult to get a good grip on. I think it's just too short. The base of the jar should be taller so that they stack better. The bottom of the jar is concave. Mine slip all over the place and to stack them I had to stagger them. I sure don't want those all tipping over.

Almost Perfect

This jar was ideal for the rhubarb conserve I recently made. This beautiful jar did justice to this rather fancy recipe. The one flaw is as the previous poster stated; these do not stay in the canning rack.

Beautiful Finish

Used this in the 8 and 16 oz. size for Pink Grapefruit Marmalade, Orange Marmalade and Ginger Orange Cherry Jam. The color and fruit was shown perfectly thru the smooth glass sides. This jar stacks and stores perfectly, a space saver with the square design. Having a wide mouth made them quick and easy to fill. I gave many as gifts and have several possitive comments regarding the "sleek jar design". I bought as many as I could store for future use.

Great Disappointment
Reviewed By: Rosemary Turnage (Farmville, N. C. )
I am experienced in making preserves and jellies. I've used the Ball Blue Book for years, and as I could not get the small round Ball jelly jar, I tried the Elite Platinum jar. It was a huge failure. It was not a good design for fig, pear or strawberry preserves. I needed the round small mouth jar that would heve kept the fruit in the syrup. Also, the jar fell completely out of the wire rack when I removed it from the water bath container. This was a big design flaw. Please tell me that another year you will restore the small mouth round jelly jars by Ball. I've ordered a similiar jar from Kitchen Krafts, but these are not available in grocery stores. You had a good design. Don't drop it. Thanks for the opportunity to vent my frustration.
