It worked!!! After the cakes were cooled, I melted chocolate wafers to secure the stick into the cake, placing in the frig to harden the stick to the cake, I then dipped them into melted chocolate wafers, placed them on parchment paper until dry. They were a big hit at a dinner party for dessert. I chose to melt in dark chocolate and personalize with each persons name in white chocolate. Great for kids and adults!!!!

Going to purchase pan today & will make the cake insert the stick with melted chocolate, and then freeze. I will then dip them in melted chocolate(s)... Will let you know how they turn out....Thanks for the info about them falling off the stick so this hopefully won't happen to me!

Neat little pan. Kids love this but how do you keep the cake on the stick? mine kept falling off the stick and these things are very hard to put icing on. There were no instructions with the pan. Would love to hear how others make them.
- Tuesday, January 26, 2010 I Didn't Think They Could Make Cake More Fun Reviewed By: Mary (Newark, Delaware)
We purchased this pan to make cake-sicles for my son's class on his birthday; what a hit! The kids were delighted; even the child who didn't like cake ate a cake-sicle.
You get less cake in one of these than a regular cupcake; I'd guess it's in between a mini cupcake and a full-sized cupcake.
The pan is easy to use and cleans up nicely. We ended up getting 31 cake-sickles from one batch of cake batter. Can't wait to use it again.

The pan would make a great addition to all the others I own, but the cost is simply too high for the 3-4 needed to use in a time-efficient manner.
