- Thursday, July 31, 2008 Make fancy "shell" bites at home Reviewed By: Mo (Hicksville, NY)
This pan may be used for either cakes or chocolates. (It is solid aluminum, so I'm not sure how easily solid chocolates would pop out of it.) I used a standard cake mix, and made five and half batches using this pan. It does not come with directions for baking, just for making chocolates. I baked at 350 degrees for about 9 minutes per batch. Each shell takes only about a tablespoon of batter, so they are bite sized - about as much cake as a Munchkin. Filling the pan requires patience, as you have to spoon the batter in each shell, as opposed to pouring it in like a full sized cake pan. This is great for summer parties.
