Jumbo Water Bath Canner
Most fruits (including tomatoes, usually) contain enough acid naturally to allow for processing in boiling water. This durable enameled-on-steel kettle with rack will provide years of service. 33 quart liquid capacity (15-1/4" dia, 9-1/2" high). Includes canning rack to hold 9 quart jars. Enamel on heavy gauge steel. No handles provided on larger canner. (Canner is not recommended for glass or ceramic top stoves - it does not have a flat bottom.)

USDA recommends that a boiling-water canner not have more than 2 inches overhang on an electric heating element. The large burner on a conventional home stove is 8 inches in diameter.
Having no handles makes it rather cumbersome to empty. It weighs almost 70 pounds when 1/4 full of water.
