With this electric water bath canner you're not limited to your kitchen for canning. You don't need a stovetop! Although attractive enough for your kitchen counter, now you can move this sometimes-messy operation to your porch or garage. Plugs into wall outlet. Adjustable thermostat allows precise control from 85°F to boiling. Use spigot to empty hot water - no more lifting heavy pot to empty. Kettle body is high quality stainless steel, lid and heater base made of heat-resistant FDA-approved plastic. Can also be used to simmer large batches of soup or stew. Will accommodate 7 mason-style quart jars. Interior is 14-1/4" in dia. by 11-3/4" high (7.93 gal capacity). 115 V AC, 1380 watts. Includes rack and instructions. One year warranty. I received it about a week ago and have canned twice and it works great. It's perfect for those of us who have glass top stoves. It would get five stars but the spigot is very slow and I usually end up dumping the water.

I purchased this Electric Canner when it came on sale last year to use as a help aid in teaching canning classes in our county. Since it doesn't require a stove, you can use it on any flat surface, in any most settings. The one I purchased has a spigot, which really helps if you have a bad back or arm problems, when it comes time to empty it. No more heavy lifting!
The canning procedure is uncomplicated and completed with ease.
I am very pleased with this purchase and my friends and co-canners enjoy it as well.
